Polymer clay bead-making is fun and every bead is different.

Tuition fees have been kept at last year’s level. All fees clearly show the GST component.

POLYMER BEADS
Texture sheets and stamps will be used in the design process. Those skills will allow us to make and bake beads, brooches and tiles for decorating your own mixed media mosaic memory/dream mirror.

Course Requirements

Material costs $80
The material costs include all the materials needed to make the following:

• a necklace and a bracelet using the polymer clay beads you have made, handmade glass beads, small spacer beads and findings provided by the tutor
• a brooch and a pair of earrings using polymer clay
• a mixed media mosaic mirror using polymer clay tiles you have made, some tiles and mixed media bits provided by the tutor (students are encouraged to bring their own memory bits to add to their mirror)

 
Materials and tools the tutor will bring for students to use
 
• Polymer clay, tools (knives, rollers, extruders, hole piercers, mats to work on etc)
• Seed beads, variety of my hand made glass beads
• Stringing materials, crimps, ear wires, bails, brooch backs, silver wire
• Pliers, cutters, crimpers and other tools
• Silver wire for students to make their own necklace clasps and ear wires
• Small mdf frames with mirrors, paint, varnish and glue, brushes
• Small selection of mixed media items for mirrors

Andrea McKey

Andrea has been a teacher/librarian in the Northern Territory for 17 years as well as a gallery manager and research manager in the NT for 15 years. She is largely self -taught. Andrea has completed commissions for the Palmerston City Library in fused glass and received a Winston Churchill Fellowship in 2009 to complete a youth-at- risk project working with glass. Andrea has exhibited extensively throughout Australia and is a regular exhibitor at the Kirra Gallery in Melbourne, the Australian National Brooch show in South Yarra and the Mansfield Glass Exhibition.
