CUBAN CARNIVALE DRUMMING

The course will involve the teaching of two carnival rhythms- ‘Comparsa’ and ‘Conga’ .Workshop participants would form a band to perform them on the Friday night concert, with the possibility also of  a demonstration on the Thursday night party. Over the week students will warm up with rhythm cups, body percussion, and fun drumming exercises, they will learn some of the drumming techniques needed to play the rhythms and some exciting arrangements in which to present them. Students will have the opportunity to work directly with a professional ensemble musician and will be amazed by what they are able to achieve in such a short time.
All ages and levels welcome.
