Chloë Waddell graduated with a BVA Hons (Jewellery and Object) from Sydney College of the Arts in 2005. Since then, she has had a varied and exciting career in the contemporary jewellery and art world. After co-founding and directing a small art gallery in Sydney, Chloë taught silver jewellery classes at Mosman Evening College and school holiday art workshops at Art Est before moving to Melbourne to run a weekly market stall at the Rose St Artist markets. She returned to Sydney in 2014 to take on the role of technical supervisor of the Jewellery studio at Sydney College of the Arts, which included weekly technical classes in jewellery and silver-smithing. Now based in Brisbane, Chloë is once again focusing on her own art practice.
It is in a busy studio surrounded by materials and students or colleagues working on an exciting project that Chloë feels happiest and most at home. It is the pure love of making which drives both her studio practice and her teaching. She is hopeful that just a little bit of that love will transfer into the objects she creates and to the students she teaches.
