Film Making for Kids

In this course participants will learn how to devise and write their own cinematic adventures.

With focus on story boarding, writing and filming techniques. Those participating have the opportunity to create their own short film idea, film it and take it home to share with friends and family. It’s fun, hands on film making for all to enjoy.

Kate Fincher

Kate Fincher

Kate Fincher grew up in Maitland and has been involved in various musical and drama productions at Hunter School of Performing Arts and in Maitland theatre groups. Kate has studied dance at East Maitland Academy of Dance, and continues to sing with Annabella Redman.

She has completed a Bachelors Degree of Communication at Charles Sturt University in Theatre and Media. Whilst at University she participated in creating makeup and costume design for a variety of shows. She was Festival designer for the 2014 Sprung festival in Bathurst for her third year major work. Since returning from University she has worked as a stage manager and assisted with the production of East Maitland Academy of Dance’s 2014 and 2015 concert.

Kate is undertaking further study in film and is currently enrolled at Hunter Institute of TAFE Newcastle, in Screen and Media. Kate has been interested in film and theatre for many years and has produced short films at Maitland Public School and Morpeth Public School.


Course Requirements

Participants will need a flash drive/USB that is Mac compatible as well as a notepad, pens and coloured pencils.
