Painting Oceans-Marine Art  NEW

This series of acrylics workshops would be suitable for most skill levels – beginners with a good level of skill and experience would benefit, and it would also suit intermediate and advanced students.

The week of workshops is aimed at learning about portraying not only the energy and forms of waves as well as the ocean, but the way the light changes through and on the different parts of the waves. We also look at the beachscape, plus creating simple boat forms with all their curves and angles.

More about the course

The early part of each day will consist of completing small thumbnail sketches of our subjects, completing colour swatches for each of the exercises to be completed (mixing colour) and building our painted work from these and spending our day on building and finishing, using our thumbnails and swatches as part of our process and as references for the work.

Our workshop time will also be spent looking at brushwork, different brushes – their uses and also some palette knife work.
