Creatively express mindfulness techniques - in a way that helps others as well as yourself. Discover the heart of Zen Shiatsu - a Japanese form of massage centred in mindfulness. Shiatsu translates as finger-pressure and is performed through the clothes. It can be practiced on a futon on the ground, a massage table, or in a chair.

More about the course

Traditionally, practitioners in Japan were blind and highly regarded for their incredible sensitivity and palpation skills, leading to a deep art form, with health benefits for both Giver and Receiver. You will practice both giving and receiving Zen Shiatsu Massage, with the emphasis on the mindfulness techniques that develop an empathetic connection with your own inner nature, and that of another human being.

 

             Breath, Connecting with your Whole Body-Mind, Intention, Levity, Intuition and Creativity.

Day 1: Begin by Introducing Creativity through the Introduction Process. Learning Meridian Stretches to begin to mindfully connect with your Inner Nature. Mediation. Practicing Zen Shiatsu Mindfulness techniques of breath, feeling with your body-mind, Intention, two handed connection, discovering how to use Levity.

Day 2: Mindful Meridian Stretches, Meditation. Practicing Zen Shiatsu Mindfulness techniques. Giving and Receiving a Shiatsu through clothes, on a Futon, Massage Table, or Chair.

Day 3: Mindful Meridian Stretches, Meditation. Practicing Zen Shiatsu Mindfulness techniques. Giving and Receiving a Shiatsu through clothes, on a Futon, Massage Table, or Chair.

Day 4: Mindful Meridian Stretches, Mediation. Practicing Zen Shiatsu Mindfulness techniques. Giving and Receiving a Shiatsu through clothes, on a Futon, Massage Table, or Chair.

Day 5: Mindful Meridian Stretches, Meditation. Giving and Receiving a ‘BLIND Zen Shiatsu (Givers will have the option of closing their eyes

Matthew Sincock

Matt loves to help people create the space to discover their own self-healing and a real joy for life. He draws on his training and practice in Zen Shiatsu, Acupuncture, Okido Yoga, Qigong, Shotokan Karate, Remedial Massage, Mindfulness, Japanese Psychology, Creative Writing, and his Deep Wilderness Experiences. He lives in Bellingen, with a successful therapeutic practice, and teaches Yoga, Qigong, and First Aid.


Course Requirements

Participants to please bring two clean towels to each session.
