You will learn everything from what gear to take on location to exploring creative approaches to effectively photographing people and discovering your photographic style.

Full days. Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
You’ll learn how to communicate with your subject to create meaningful images and build confidence to approach and photograph people.
Lou and Ralf will support you in moving outside of your comfort zone with daily challenges and group critiques.
Beyond the techniques, this course teaches you how to think creatively and outside the box with your photography and discover what you love about taking pictures.
Suitable for advanced amateur photographers.
If you are not comfortable with using a DSLR camera, this may not be the course for you.
Basic knowledge of aperture, shutter speed and ISO is ideal.
Some guided and self-paced walking and photographing around the Camp will be required each day.

You will be required to upload daily challenge images to a private Facebook group for critiquing, so access to a laptop, personal PC or other device is required.
PLEASE NOTE: Film format cameras are absolutely encouraged, but in order to give daily critiquing, a digital equivalent will be required.
We’d love to see what you can come up with in other formats as well as smartphones! Please bring along your tools of choice and shoot one, two or all of them!
Handy but not essential
Smartphone. This will enable participants to take photos and submit to Camp Creative in real-time and be showcased on social media throughout the week.
Instagram account and Facebook account to participate in group discussions and image sharing.
Louise Walpole & Ralf Hesse
Louise (Lou) is a people photographer with over twenty years of experience photographing large-scale arts, music and cultural events such as The National Folk Festival – as well as private events and weddings.
Louise believes that the way we choose to communicate is a major part of effectively taking authentic and engaging images of people and place.
Ralf is a master photographic printer and teacher with a special interest and understanding in colour management and the technical elements of photo taking, editing and printing.
He is also very passionate about landscape and travel photography.
Lou and Ralf work from their shopfront ‘Dorrigo Photographic Services’ at 57 Hickory Street Dorrigo, offering fine art printing, art reproduction and professional photographic services to the Bellingen Shire and beyond.
