Hip Hop Dance Fusion

This infectious, energetic dance course involves your whole body, opening up rhythm, swagger and self-expression.

In this course, you will learn many sub-genres of hip hop, combining old school styles like break popping and locking with new school, more commercial styles for a fun and educational dance experience.

In a vibrant class environment, Tegan will help you enhance your skills, no matter your dance experience, as you work on fun and funky routines.

Her high-energy, versatile choreography is built around old-school jams and the freshest new hip hop and RnB sounds. You’ll work as a class to gain new skills and confidence, leading to an amazing high-energy finale dance performance at the end of the week!

Course Info

This course is a unique opportunity to enhance your skills (no matter your dance background) through a fun and dynamic dance course.

Working in the Camp Creative group environment to the rhythms of new and old school hip hop jams, Tegan will help engender an understanding and love for the versatile and dynamic hip hop dance style.

The class will perform at the Youth Concert on the Friday of the Camp

Please bring the following on your first day of class:

  • Your clothes will need to reflect dance
  • Sneaker-style shoes
  • Stretch pants
  • Loose, comfortable, casual clothing
  • No skirts please

You will receive an email from Tegan prior to the commencement of Camp Creative to let you know the costume requirements. They won’t be expensive and wherever possible will be normal street clothes.

Course Tutor

Tegan Hannaford

Tegan Hannaford is a 23-year-old professional dancer and dance teacher living and working in Sydney.

She studied two years of full-time dance training at Sydney’s Brent Street, a performing arts school under the tutelage of Paris Cav, Cassie Bartho, Matt Gode and Cameron Mitchell.

Tegan has performed as a backup dancer for RnB artists in video clips, live sporting events, club shows and most recently, a show on Netflix.

She grew up in Bellingen and, at 14, began dancing at Rivers Dance Centre, assisting and learning from the incredible Tehani Carmen Vicario. Tegan attended many Camp Creative courses when she was younger and is so excited to now be on the other side, to share her love and passion for dance with the next generation.
