Life Drawing

Work from life models and learn all the various techniques and styles needed to draw the human form.

Learn fundamental drawing skills, including line, shape, tone, proportion and perspective, whilst developing an individual style. This course is suitable for both beginners and experienced drawers alike, with personal tuition and guidance for all levels of experience. Self-expression will be encouraged in response to the beauty and challenge of depicting the human form.

Please note that this course uses nude life models. Students under eighteen require parental consent- contact us before enrolling.


Course Info

A range of materials and techniques will be explored throughout the week. Open to all levels of experience.

For both beginners and experienced drawers

To be supplied by participant
  • Two (at minimum) support boards
  • A2 (minimum size) cartridge drawing pad
  • Bulldog clips
  • Willow charcoal
  • Compressed charcoal
  • Graphite pencils (2B upward)
  • Any media or materials that you already have
  • All other optional materials will be discussed on the first day of the course

There will be a cost of $100 for model fees for the five days. This is payable to the tutor on the first day.

Adrienne Hmelnitsky

Adrienne has an Advanced Diploma in Fine Art and Diplomas in Visual Art and Furniture Design.

She has been a practising artist for thirty-five years, exhibiting in Sydney and locally. Adrienne has won several art prizes throughout her career. She is an experienced teacher in general drawing and life drawing. Her teaching focuses on drawing fundamentals and expression.

Adrienne is a founding member and a curator of The Art Space, Urunga.
