If you've always wanted to learn to draw but didn't know where to start, this is the course for you. Start out on your creative journey - learn all the basic concepts and techniques you need to know to get started. This is a beginner’s course, so let’s start at the very beginning!

This course will explore the different skills and concepts involved in drawing. We will explore various drawing materials, test the rules of drawing and learn how to break them. We will also learn about the different types of paper and how to select the right surface and material for your drawings.

We’ll be learning how to create the illusion of three dimensions on a two-dimensional surface. Proportion, negative space, picture plane, and composition will all have meaning as we improve our observation skills and learn to transfer those observations into artworks. By the end of this journey, you will have uncovered hidden talents you never knew you had.

AGE: Suitable for ages 16 to adult

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner - Suited to those who are new to the course area or may have little or no experience.
