Cartooning

In this course we will be learning how to draw cartoons and comics. Exploring the basic techniques of drawing as shapes, forms, volume, texture, proportions and light and shade.

We will be creating characters and their emotions and expressions, inserting them to a scene (learning the basics of point of view and different backgrounds).
We will explore a bit about story telling and we will create each your own little comics as a result of the course.

For beginners and all levels of drawing experience

Please bring the following on your first day of class:

  • 2B pencils
  • Erasers and sharpeners
  • 1 finepoint artline/sharpie/unipin fine line pen (any 0.1 to 0.4)
  • 1 medium/thicker artline/sharpie/unipin fine line pen (any 0.6 to 1.0)
  • Colouring pencils (not a must)
  • Drawing paper eg. notebooks, A4 paper

Mila Nascimentto

Mila Nascimentto is a brazilian-born artist and tattoo artist. She mainly works with tattooing exploring fineline designs, but she loves creating art in all forms, with a deep passion for painting figures. At her little art studio/gallery Aquarius Arcade, in the heart of Coffs Harbour, she promotes art social nights, paint and sip events and art classes and workshops.
