Creating Unique Hand Puppets (Afternoon Session)

The hand puppet is a very accessible form of puppetry.
Making and working a hand puppets is a rewarding way to develop the brain and the imagination by developing fine motor skills, language and emotional awareness skills.
Over 5 afternoon sessions, the group of young creatives will fabricate hand puppets around a theme that is generated by the group. On days 4 and 5, they will learn to operate their puppets culminating in a short performance.
Puppetry is a meeting point between the visual and the performing arts. The skills explored include thinking in 3 dimensions, working with papier mache, paint and fabric, learning character development and how to devise and rehearse for puppet theatre.
